A rare antique William IV Scottish Silver & Rhino Horn Toddy Ladle crafted by quality maker Peter Aitken I, Glasgow 1836.
Measures: 13″ or 33 cm long
Fully hallmarked for Glasgow 1836
The rhino horn handle is beautifully crafted to resemble joints. This is so rare and unique we have never seen a similar looking piece like this.
Silverware of this period was crafted in a bold and showy manner. This ladle embodies the highly skilled craftsmanship of Scottish silver smiths during that time period.
